Sinigang na Baka Recipe



INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 pound beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 quart water
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 pound fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
  • 1/2 medium head bok choy, cut into 1 1/2 inch strips
  • 1 head fresh broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 (1.41 ounce) package tamarind soup base
PROCEDURE:
      1.  Heat oil in medium stock pot. Saute onion and garlic until tender. Add beef to pot, and saute until browned. Pour in water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 20 to 30 minutes.
      1.   Place tomatoes and green beans in pot, and continue to simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in bok choy, broccoli and tamarind soup mix. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.                 



    Sinigang na hipon Recipe


    Sinigang is a Philippine dish famous for the variety of ingredients. Sinigang often incorporates fish, pork, chicken, shrimp, or beef. This time we’ll use Shrimp for our recipe. Sinigang’s characteristic taste is attributed to the ingredient that gives its sour taste and most commonly use ingredient is Tamarind or Sampalok for its sour taste.
    Estimated preparation and cooking time: 50 minutes

    INGREDIENTS: 
    • 1 Kilo Shrimp
    • 12 pcs Tamarind (Sampaloc) or 1 pack Sinigang Mix
    • 1 big Onion (diced)
    • 3 big tomatoes (quartered)
    • 2 pieces Radish (sliced)
    • 1 bundle Sitaw (Strringbeans)
    • 1 bundle Kangkong (cut into 2″ long)
    • 3 pieces long green pepper
    • 5 cups ricewash or water
    • Salt or Patis (fish sauce)
     PROCEDURE: 
    • Boil Tamarind in rice wash or water to soften.
    • Pound and extract all juices and set aside.
    • In a casserole, boil rice wash or water, Tamarind juice, onions, tomatoes and Radish.
    • Lower fire, add in Shrimps, Kangkong, Sitaw and green long pepper.
    • simmer for 5 minutes.
    • Season with salt or patis.
    • Serve hot.

    Sinigang na Bangus Recipe


    INGREDIENTS:
    • 1 piece large bangus, cleaned and sliced into serving pieces
    • 2 pieces tomatoes, quartered
    • 2 medium eggplants, cut into serving pieces
    • 5 pieces string beans, cut into serving pieces
    • 2 cups kangkong leaves
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 small ginger, sliced 
    • 1 medium union, sliced 
    • 5 cups water
    • 1 small packed tamarind powder
    PROCEDURE:
    • bring water to a boil together with the ginger in a casserole
    • add the bangus, tomatoes and union and simmer for 10 mins. 
    • add the tamarind powder and salt to taste
    • add the eggplant and string beans and simmer for another 5 mins.
    • remove from heat, add the kangkong leaves and let stand cover for 5 mins.
    • serve
